maybe jasper does the astro.

okay, so it's been over a month.
sue me.

i've had a lot to do.
a lot on my mind.
and a lot on my plate.

we DID win the CIF championships.
(go cardinals.)
i DID beat john to the end of my driver's ed.
and i DID learn something this morning that i would absolutely love to share.

a relationship with Jesus Christ is like dentistry.
praying is like brushing your teeth: easy to do, easy to accomplish, and leaves you feeling pretty good afterward. not to mention you hopefully do them both before you go to bed and when you wake up.
now, reading your bible is like flossing: it's harder to do and it may not always be pleasant. sometimes we just honestly don't have the time for it. it's a little confusing, maybe a little painful, but gosh dang it, it keeps your teeth and your relationship nice and healthy.
church camps and retreats of the sort are like going to the dentist. my church goes to camp every six months, just like you would (or should) go to the dentist. while you're at either place, your teeth or your heart get all cleaned out, you feel great and clean and like you don't have a care in the world. once you're about to leave the dentist, (at least if you're like me) you make a promise to yourself you're going to brush and floss your teeth every day, you're going to take the best care of your teeth ever and you're going to be the most hygenically sane person on the block. after church camp, you promise yourself (and your God for that matter) that you're going to pray and read your bible in every spare moment you have. you're going to build a relationship with Christ like this world has never seen.
about a week after your departure, life comes up and slaps you in the face, forcing you to break your promises.
being a christian isn't easy. just like hygiene, it takes work. it takes time, commitment and faith. sometimes, it seems there just isn't enough time to commit yourself to your teeth, let alone your relationship with Christ. we as christians need to find the time to build a relationship with our lord and savior. it's the least we can do.
next time you brush your teeth, say a little prayer and, for goodness sake, don't forget to floss!

Hahaha- ooo Lenny!

would this be considered plagerism?

If you make time to clothe, feed, and get yourself rest- to build friendships and friendlier friendships... you've got to be able to make time for Christ, if in fact you love Him more than anything else in the world.(despite the flossing.) ;)

great blog, Missy!
