This blog has officially been abandoned.

Blogger, I've left you for Tumblr.
I'm sorry it had to come to this.
Can we still be friends?

Time.

I WISH I had time for this.
I WISH I could sleep at night.
I WISH I could have a life outside of this cycle I'm stuck in.
School. Homework. Work. School. Homework. Work. School. Homework. Work.
It goes on and on.
College has ruined me. Whatever social skills I once had, whatever original thoughts I once had, they've all vanished. They've been squeezed out to make room for all these new ideas and concepts being thrown at me from every direction.
My world is big, but my body is small.
I can't handle too much stress before I completely explode. I'm at the point where I might as well explode. My mind has expanded far too much for my little body to deal with.
College has ruined me.
Good night.

like i promised...

it's been forever, but cheer had me working my butt off (literally AND figuratively...) and school has been a pain in the parts of my butt that haven't been worked off yet...anywhom, i finally have a memoir for you! yay! (be happy, DARN IT!)
so here it is. i wrote it for college writing last semester, and i figured i'd start with that.

It was my first day taking the bus to school. I was five years old. I grabbed my purple Beauty and the Beast backpack, walked up the stairs and made my way down the long stretch of sidewalk toward my classroom. My mom had done my hair that day. It hung about halfway down my neck, and the top half was pulled back into a little yellow, heart-shaped clip. As I trudged - alone and helpless – down the sidewalk, I saw another little girl about my age running straight for me. I cowered in fear. “We have the same hairstyle!” she screamed. “Let’s be friends!!!”
As long as you promise not to kill me, I thought to myself. “Um…okay.” (I had never been one to talk to people) “Okay! My name is Elizabeth Anne Lutzker. You can call me Lizzie or Liz or Ellie or Eliza or-” from what I remember, this one-sided conversation went on for what seemed like three hours. “What’s your name?” “M-m-m-Melissa...” I was still recovering from the heart attack she had given me. “Silly, what’s your full name?” “M-m-m-Melissa Valorie Bierend, ma’am…”
“Why do you talk funny? Does everyone in your family talk funny? How many brothers and sisters do you have? Do you have a pet? Do you like it? Would you like to give me your pet? I always wanted a pet. My grandma likes cats. Do you have a cat?” – the myriad of questions continued until I got to my classroom. “Well it was nice talking to you. I’ll see you at recess! Meet me out here so we can talk some more.” “O-o-okay……” I had hardly managed to stutter the word out of my mouth before she walked away. I turned around and entered the classroom in a daze.
This awkward, frightening greeting sparked a wonderful friendship that has been strong for the last twelve years. Liz’s crazy antics taught me to get to know people before I judge them, no matter how crazy and even scary they may be. If I had judged Liz too quickly, I would have never had her as my best friend. Don’t judge, and don’t miss out.

oh, also, it's my 18th birthday tomorrow!!! huzzah!!!! i started this blog when i was like, 15, so that's pretty cool. anywhom, hope you all enjoyed! yayyyy!
haha peace out, rainbow trout.

yay memoirs!

so i've been thinking a lot...
you know, in those epically long periods of spare time i have...
(in case you're slow, that means i don't actually have any)
and i've decided this blog will be a memoir blog.
i'll write about random events in my life that have happened, or are happening now.
and i'll tell you all sorts of cutesy little life lessons that make me who i am.
and if i don't have a story to tell, i'll just put a random bible verse that i like.
so yeah i'll try to do it monthly, or weekly at best....and during my breaks from school it'll be far more frequent.
but for now, you'll just get the "missy had about an hour of spare time while she was waiting for luke to go on break" versions of my stories.
enjoy! :D

by the way, we're CIF champions again. ;]

i'll be completely honest:

i'm scared out of my mind.

one of my best friends in the world,
she could be my sister,
has...strayed from the faith.
we're talking about the girl that BROUGHT ME TO CHRIST.
i'm so scared. it seems like her life has fallen apart.
and the fact that i haven't necessarily been fervently praying like i should be is really weighing down on my conscience.
i want my alexfish back. i want her to come back to us.
i wish she wouldn't give up like this. she's stronger than that, i know she is. i know life gets hard. my life may be easier than most, but it doesn't mean i don't face trials. i just know how to handle them so they don't get worse.
i'm praying for her. i'm praying harder than i've ever prayed. she's my best friend and, Lord forbid, something happens to her and she spends eternity in Hell.
i refuse to let that happen without an attempt to change it first.

to add to all this drama, my life is changing faster than i change clothes.
my brother moved out, i'm the only child left in the house.
i'm learning to drive.
my seventeenth birthday is less than a month away.
i'm dating the most wonderful young man i've ever met in my life.
there is great possibility that i will be the captain of the cheer squad next year.
my plans for college have been completely rearranged.
i haven't gotten a normal night's sleep in probably about two months.
i'm pretty sure my body is attacking itself because there is NO REASON for me to be in so much physical pain.
and now my best friend is an atheist. wonderful.

i have some serious praying to do.
if you could join me in prayer, it would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

maybe jasper does the astro.

okay, so it's been over a month.
sue me.

i've had a lot to do.
a lot on my mind.
and a lot on my plate.

we DID win the CIF championships.
(go cardinals.)
i DID beat john to the end of my driver's ed.
and i DID learn something this morning that i would absolutely love to share.

a relationship with Jesus Christ is like dentistry.
praying is like brushing your teeth: easy to do, easy to accomplish, and leaves you feeling pretty good afterward. not to mention you hopefully do them both before you go to bed and when you wake up.
now, reading your bible is like flossing: it's harder to do and it may not always be pleasant. sometimes we just honestly don't have the time for it. it's a little confusing, maybe a little painful, but gosh dang it, it keeps your teeth and your relationship nice and healthy.
church camps and retreats of the sort are like going to the dentist. my church goes to camp every six months, just like you would (or should) go to the dentist. while you're at either place, your teeth or your heart get all cleaned out, you feel great and clean and like you don't have a care in the world. once you're about to leave the dentist, (at least if you're like me) you make a promise to yourself you're going to brush and floss your teeth every day, you're going to take the best care of your teeth ever and you're going to be the most hygenically sane person on the block. after church camp, you promise yourself (and your God for that matter) that you're going to pray and read your bible in every spare moment you have. you're going to build a relationship with Christ like this world has never seen.
about a week after your departure, life comes up and slaps you in the face, forcing you to break your promises.
being a christian isn't easy. just like hygiene, it takes work. it takes time, commitment and faith. sometimes, it seems there just isn't enough time to commit yourself to your teeth, let alone your relationship with Christ. we as christians need to find the time to build a relationship with our lord and savior. it's the least we can do.
next time you brush your teeth, say a little prayer and, for goodness sake, don't forget to floss!

it's been a while.

i missed this a little.
school has been awfully busy.
and with the holidays pretty much here and all,
it's awfully difficult to find time to put my brain into words.
especially if it's not for a grade.
we should have to blog for a grade.
i'd get an A no problem. haha.
maybe i'll suggest it to mr. brown.
....nah. forget it.

anywhom, life has been...good.
very good, actually.
my two-monthiversary with luke is this friday.
i have texting.
actually i've had it since september. haha.
i kinda forgot that part. sorry. =]
i'm almost done with driver's ed.
no matter what he says, i WILL beat john in this little race of ours.
haha.
basically, we're racing to see who gets their permit first.
and then it's who gets their license first.
we're such non-biological siblings.
it's not even funny.
just kidding, it's absolutely hilarious.
especially when you remember that i'm kind of dating his brother.
haha.

anywhom, life's good.
it's almost christmas.
our football team might actually be the CIF champions this year.
i really hope we win this friday!!!
that would be AMAZING.
you don't even know.
and if they do it again next year.....
....my senior year.....
i think my life as a cheerleader would be made.

i still have a lot to do on the homework front.
i'll see y'all later.
have a blessed day/night thingy!
peace out!

why can't i breathe whenever i think about you?
